This week I started by learning about two different types of light fixtures, Ellipsoidal, and Fresnel.
The two images below is the Ellipsoidal.
The two images below is the Fresnel.
On Monday I spent the time looking at the diagrams and studied the different parts of them. On Tuesday I was looking at the actual lights and some YouTube videos on how to bench focus a ellipsoidal light. Wednesday Mr. Smith and I had went into the auditorium after school to start learning some functions of the light board. I learned how to look at a individual channel, or a group of them. Also how to add/turn on more channels to whats already on. I looked at already programmed sub-masters. I then learned how to use a cue sheet that is already programmed on the board. We pulled down two of the light bars to look at the lights that we out and to more on to another bar. He had showed me what the different plugs meant. On Thursday and Friday I went into the auditorium to practice what I had learned.
If this was my permanent projection room I would make a few changes as your atmosphere is important to your work place. I would change the fact that it is sound proof so when doing sound you can adjust the volumes easier. I would change a few organization things such at the back of the room. I would take out the desk in the back as well as the stuff stacked on it, all the old equipment. This would make the moving of spot lights easier. I would make a change to the way the lights in the room work, by using lamps that take up the room to make reading a little easier.
